My Experience in Spain

Spain introduced me to some truly unforgettable places. La Sagrada Família is unlike anything I’ve seen, and even after visiting twice, it continues to amaze me.

Granada was another highlight, where visiting the Alhambra gave me an even greater appreciation for Spain’s rich history and architecture. One thing that surprised me was hearing Catalan spoken alongside Spanish, which gave Barcelona and the surrounding region its own distinct identity.

Know Before You Go

Spain is made up of distinct regions. Culture, cuisine, traditions, and even languages can vary significantly from one region to another.

You’ll hear more than just Spanish. Catalan is widely spoken in Barcelona, while Basque and Galician are common in other parts of the country.

Reserve the Alhambra early. If Granada is on your itinerary, book tickets well in advance to secure entry to the Nasrid Palaces.

Validate your paper transit ticket. On regional trains and some public transportation, you'll need to validate your paper ticket before boarding to avoid unnecessary fees.

Book timed entry tickets early. Spain's most popular attractions, including La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, often sell out days or even weeks in advance.
